Practical guide

How much does custom food packaging cost?

Short answer

The price depends on four factors: the product, the quantity, the number of colours and the finish. The higher the quantity, the lower the unit price. As a rough guide, a kraft bag in your branding runs from a few cents to around ten cents per unit depending on volume. Firm pricing comes with the quote, and we match your current supplier, or beat them.

The four factors that set the price

The product first: a bag does not cost the same as a cup. Then the quantity, which is the main lever. The number of colours, because each colour adds set-up. And the finish: varnish, lamination, special material.

Why the price drops with quantity

Machine set-up and printing plates are fixed costs spread across the run. Doubling the quantity does not double the price, the unit price falls. That is also why a minimum order exists.

Indicative ranges

A custom kraft bag runs from a few cents to around ten cents per unit depending on volume. A sticker starts at a few tens of cents in a small run and falls to a few cents at high volume. These are orders of magnitude, never a firm price.
